A Staff Award
Friday 6 November 2009
Today I have asked Mrs Jane Torii, Faculty Leader - Languages to write for the Blog about a recent Staff achievement of which we are all proud.
We are pleased to announce that Mrs Mary Hugh, our Mandarin Teacher has been granted an Asian Education Foundation Award to participate in a China study program from 30 December until 23 January 2010. This award is funded by the Australian Government through the Asia Education Foundation.
As one of 200 teachers in Australia who were selected for these tours, Mrs Hugh will be participating in a program which provides an invaluable opportunity for committed language teachers to update and expand their intercultural understanding and to strengthen networks with like-minded professionals.
During the tour, Mrs Hugh will be taking part in a number of activities including a course at Nanjing University, sightseeing in Shanghai and a variety of cultural activities. We wish Mrs Hugh a wonderful journey and feel sure that she will have much to impart to her students on her return.
