Oustanding VCE Results!
Once again, our Senior students have showcased their outstanding academic potential and leadership skills as well as talent in all areas of the School's co-curricular programs, achieving impressive results in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE):
• 8% of students recorded Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank (ENTER) scores of 99 or higher (placing them in the top 1% of all Victorian students);
• 31% achieved scores of 95 and above which places them in the top 5% of the State;
• 53% achieved scores of 90 and above which places them in the top 10% of the State;
• Five students recorded a total of five perfect Study Scores of 50 in English, Further Mathematics, Specialist Mathematics and Studio Arts;
• Excellent Study Score results across the Class of 2008, with 30 scores of 45 or above in Chemistry, Economics, English, French, Further Mathematics, History (Revolutions), Literature, Specialist Mathematics, Studio Arts and Theatre Studies, placing these girls in the top 2% of the State in their individual subjects
• 64% of students received a Study Score of 40 or above in English.
Congratulations to our 2008 Dux
Congratulations to the Dux of St Catherine's School for 2008, Asha Bonney, who achieved an ENTER of 99.90. Asha undertook six Units 3 & 4 studies and gained Study Scores of 42 and greater in Chemistry, English, French, Japanese, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics.
A Proud Record of Excellence
The results of our 2008 School leavers continue a proud history of consistent high achievement at VCE level, and are a reflection of our students' abilities and dedication, as well as the high quality educational environment and teaching provided.
Over the past five years, nearly 8% of our Year 12 students have achieved an ENTER of above 99, nearly 15% have achieved an ENTER of above 98 and 50% have achieved above 90. Compared with a State average of 20%, approximately 75% of our students achieve an ENTER of 80 or higher (average St Catherine's School VCE results, 2004-2008).
